That scene at the beginning (despite the lack of any imagery) was quite haunting, it quickly elevated my expectations for the rest of the story, and I'm definitely not disappointed thus far. The characterization is great, loving Stefan and the sisters in particular, and the setting makes everything quite ominous, so I'm very excited to see the downward spiral develop, but at the same time I'm hoping for a little bit of joy to come Garret's way.

I love the Writing, I love the Art! Only issue I have currently is no sprite or CG image of Garret (the bathroom mirror is perfect spot for this), and of the missing (which may be revealed in time anyway prior to meeting them, if they are even found or alive that is)
I get he sense that the very start is part of the end, but there is too much of a gap to be able to properly place and understand it, aside from the two of them... its always interesting to lead with a cliffhanger.

Polar Night seems to be quite a promising VN, even just from a demo. All of the characters are fleshed out, the art is great, and the writing is decent. I did notice a few typos here and there, but overall great start to what I hope will a genuinely scary VN.
I just hope you don't give the idiots what they want and add in needless NSFW content. I feel liking adding a "Date The Character!" thing to this would ruin what you're going for. Just my two cents.
I am hooked! I never thought there would be a nautical-themed story here, but here it is! It reminds me of movies like Ghost Ship, Deep Rising, and Triangle. I look forward to your next update and keep up the good work.😀

I know it has only been released 3 days ago and i'm aware that it will take maybe a year or few years to finish the game development but i'm really curious as to when i can expect it to be finished. Thank you for your kind words! For the MC, his appearance will be added in the next build, which will be a polishing and typo fixing build. It will appear after Garret leaves the shop to light up a cigarette at the very start, so keep an eye on that!
As for when it’s finished, that’s something I can’t answer at the moment. I plan to have updates released each month, typically a main build followed by a polishing/fixing build and alternating but it’s early days yet. I simply did not expect this level of interest so it’s taken me by surprise hah.
I do plan on making a discord at some point, but I’m currently concentrating on getting 0.0.2 ready. Once that is up and things stabilise a bit, I will create one!
Oh yeah also i have another question. Will this game be just a linear story or will we be able to make important game impacting decisions by ourselves?
Omg I really enjoyed the demo, can't wait to see more of this visual novel, there are few horror vn's that immerse you so much in the story and intrigue to the point that you feel a part of it. And wow a story in the arctic excites me so much because it's so different and such a remote and strange place that it's terrifying.
I have to say I highly enjoy it so far, and the atmosphere is extremely off putting in a perfect way, The only thing I was hoping while reading was a good look at the main character, but thats not a huge issue. Im excited for future update :)

I’m so happy you enjoyed it! As I’ve said elsewhere, romance and NSFW is a possibility, but funding is currently prioritising backgrounds, CGs and sprites so it might be a while before I can work on such scenes!
While Patrons will get earlier access, every build will be released publicly eventually including the final version too. Supporting via patreon or paying helps me pay for assets, which speeds up development but there’s never an obligation to pay!
as for NSFW, it’s a possibility but NSFW scenes need to be paid for and then drawn by the artist which pulls time and resources away from story CGs, backgrounds and sprites so it’s something that can be done depending on time and funding.
I hope you guys can get going soon, I can't afford to give any money yet and I have yet to play it but if it's giving off vibes like Event Horizon and The Thing then I'm sure it'll be a great experience.

However, I use Linux Mint and it seems like y'all exported the game in Renpy to be windows only instead of the "PC: Windows and Linux" option. I'd love to play this, but unfortunately I don't have a PC of any type. Will there be an Android build at any point?

There will definitely be choices and depending on how you play, some characters may or may not survive - including the MC!

It is planned, but it’s a ways off. The focus is on the plot first and romances will follow if interest is high enough.
